This workshop introduced the students in Eric Bornstein’s course, “Masks and Puppetry,” at the Bristol Community College to acting with hand, rod and table top puppets. Participants also explored acting with object puppets and hands as characters. Some elements of live actor training were included to compare and juxtapose the training of the puppeteer and the principles of puppet expression. Following training in and study of principles of expression, participants engaged in improvisations and scene development, working with both improvised texts and the words of T.S. Eliot.
