Dream Tale Puppets

2025 Woods Hole Puppetry Series

Dream Tale Puppets invites children and their families to the 2025 Woods Hole Puppetry Series at the Woods Hole Community Hall on 69 Water Street in Woods Hole. The series will open on Thursday, July 3rd, with the Build Your Own Toy Theater Workshop. Drop-in Hours: 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm (stay for 30 minutes or two hours). Cost: Free

This joyful, hands-on experience in building miniature theaters out of cardboard and creating puppets to play and perform on a paper stage welcomes children aged 4 and up and their caregivers. All materials will be provided.

The workshop will be led by members of the Dream Tale Puppets ensemble: Jacek Zuzanski, a theater and puppetry artist and teacher, and Sarah Kahn, a performer, artist, and art teacher.

The project is inspired by the toy theaters that were popular in the early 19th century. They were miniature theater stages printed on paperboard and sold in kits at opera houses, intended for assembly and imaginative play at home.

The workshop will be followed by presentations of three Dream Tale Puppets’ shows.

Three Little Pigs and the workshop, introduction to puppet acting – Sunday, July 6. Admission fee: $10

Jack and the Beanstalk – Saturday, July 12. Admission fee: $12

Alice, or the Red King’s Dream – Friday, July 18. Admission fee: $12

Tickets at the door, cash only. The door opens at 4:35. All shows begin at 5:00 pm.

This program is sponsored by the Woods Hole Community Association and supported by a grant from the Woods Hole Foundation.
