Saturdays with Puppets

Through the Saturdays with Puppets series, Dream Tale Puppets presents its own shows as well as shows by other puppet masters and leads workshops and demonstrations in puppet-building techniques and in acting with puppets for children and families. Usually the events take place at John Wesley United Methodist Church 270 Gifford Street in Falmouth.

February 25, 2:00 pm
by Margaret Moody Puppets of Arlington

Only Mrs. Piggle Wiggle’s magic can convince the grimy Mathilda to take a bath in this light-hearted adaptation of a Betty MacDonald story. Margaret Moody performs with needle-felted pig puppets and lots of gentle humor. Children and adults are invited to stay after the show for puppet-play. Best for ages 3 to 7.

Margaret Moody loves to send her puppets flipping through the stage window, a technique she learned while studying  traditional Taiwanese puppetry with master puppeteer Li Tien-lu in Taiwan. Her repertoire includes episodes of the Chinese epic “Journey to the West” featuring the Monkey King stories, fairy stories and gentle stories for preschool children. In addition to her solo work, Margaret works with Galapagos Puppets (New Jersey) and Dream Tale Puppets (Cotuit, MA).

The event is free.
